What is Social Media?

Social Media or "Social networking" is defined as the networking of individuals together into to specific groups, often like a small community or a neighborhood through the use of Social Media tools such as Facebook and Twitter. Although social networking is possible in person by joining, for instance your local chamber of commerce, it is most popular online due to the rise in poularity of these tools. Socializing for profit is all about making new friends, prospects, customers and business contacts.

Today the Internet gives us as individuals the chance to meet
new people from all around the world. It gives us the opportunity
to connect in a way that has never been possible before. It is
amazing if you really take a minute to think about it. You can
develop a friendship with someone across the world just as
easily as if they lived next door.

Two of the most popular online social media sites (tools) to use are
Facebook and Twitter. However they are not the only ones
available, there are  many more like YouTube, Wordpress and
many more, which are increasing in popularity as they are spread by "word of mouth".

The Goal of this Site

My goal is to take and break things into bite sized peices. Make it to where a broad audience can understand the tool and actually how to use it. We will do this together thru tutorials, videos, podcasts, blog posts, social media accounts and many other ways we can choose to communicate.

The best way I have found for people to learn is by actually putting into practice what they are taught, and seeing my examples that they can actually see, analyze and duplicate.
